Yes, Iboga will drastically improve your health on multiple levels and improve many symptoms that you are experiencing. The bottom line is that everyone who comes to the Iboga House leaves MUCH better than when they first arrived, regardless of what they came here to heal.

For legal reasons, we are not able to say that Iboga can cure anything. However, we have many patients who have been diagnosed by their doctors pre-treatment with various complications or illnesses, and then post-treatment, the problem that was originally diagnosed can no longer be found.

Yes, the use of Iboga with the guidance of a Bwiti shaman is a completely safe.

We are a government licensed center. In Moughenda’s 25 years of experience, he has never had a problem. It is part of Moughenda mission to teach safe practices using Iboga/Ibogaine and he continues to do so internationally.

Moughenda's family consists of three different Bwiti tribes from the South of Gabon. All of those tribes have been using Iboga since its discovery a thousand years ago. Many of his family members were and still are active healers that use Iboga as their primary source of medicine and not one of their patients has had an adverse reaction from Iboga.

Why?

The Bwiti know how to pre-screen someone and determine if their body is able to handle Iboga. They do not use someone’s weight to determine their treatment dose. They use these same traditional techniques they use in screening as when they are providing treatment to determining how much medicine a person needs based on their level of mental stability, body sensitivity and current health condition. Because of this and the knowledge of the antidote the Bwiti have always been 100% safe.

Iboga (and Ibogaine) are completely legal in Costa Rica, Canada and another 190 Countries around the world. It is restricted only in the USA, France, Sweden, Denmark, Belgium, and Switzerland.

The reasoning given for the restriction of Iboga in these particular countries seems to have two main components.

First, Iboga has been labeled a psychotropic with hallucinogenic properties. There is a common misunderstanding associated with this label that Iboga only creates mental hallucinations, whereas in reality, it is allowing the individual to access the generally unseen and very real spirit realm.

In addition, Iboga has been officially deemed by some to have no medicinal value. It is not fully known why such a powerful plant (and its extract), with evidence of so many healing capabilities, has been declared not to have any, and has not yet been given FDA approval.

Many doctors and experts in the United States and France (two countries where it is illegal) agree that Iboga and its characteristic visual experience have been very helpful for patients. Regardless of the inability of modern science to understand the intricacies of its effects, Iboga remains a profoundly healing, non-addictive medicinal plant, and the Gabonese people have been using it for over a thousand years with no adverse side effects. 

No, this is not a cult. With Iboga, there is no contract. At the Iboga House, we simply provide a service and people come and go—there is no group or requirement to join any organization or “Iboga Society”.  You simply take Iboga once, and then you continue on your path with greater power and clarity about your life.

“Cult” is a term used to describe a group that imposes its beliefs upon an individual. The programs created by these groups are designed to control people, by blinding them to the truth and disconnecting them from Nature. Iboga is the furthest thing from this.

Through the use of Iboga, you get to see the truth for yourself, without having to rely on the word of others. You are able to interact with spirit and get the answers to any information you seek, thereby being your own witness and not simply accepting another’s interpretation. The experience is yours and yours alone.

We wouldn’t be answering this question if it wasn’t for the fact that we realize there are people out there who are concerned about something like this.

Put bluntly, NO you will NOT be brainwashed. The Iboga House is here to help you heal and to discover your true self.  The Iboga treatment will not make you lose any part of yourself—including your ego, your sexual preference or anything else. We cannot stress enough that when you walk out of here you can become the person you have always wanted to be, without any more self-imposed restraints or limitations.

We receive this question quite often and a comparison between the two can be very difficult. Here is what Moughenda has said about Iboga in relation to other medicinal and visionary plants:

“Iboga is the godfather of all plants on the earth. There are many powerful plants out there that people use for visions and for healings. Every plant on the planet has healing properties. You just have to know them. Iboga is the chief plant, like the chief spirit. You have the spirits of the earth, the spirits of the sun, the spirits of the fire, the spirits of the water, and the spirits of the wind. Every element has a chief spirit. Iboga is the chief plant spirit.

Plants like Peyote, Ayahuasca or mushrooms are also very good medicine plants, depending on how they are being used. Still, those plants have limits, especially when you are talking about visions. Medicinally, all plants have different levels. Doing journeys with these other plants for ten years would not be equal to one Iboga journey. I have worked with people who have done Ayahuasca or peyote many times, but they are still in the same spot. Once you come to Iboga, it is one shot. Why do you think that people who have been working with Ayahuasca for fifteen years still have a need to do Iboga? I have no need to do any other medicine plant. Whatever I need or whatever I want to find out, I got it. Iboga can take you to the beginning of time. There is no other plant on this planet, and I will bet my life on it, that will take you to that place. That is why Iboga is the master, the godfather of all plants. The Iboga understands all the plants on earth.  

I have not researched these plants on the physical level. I have done research on them on the spiritual level with the Iboga. Everything I am telling you, the Iboga has shown me.”

We are not dismissing Ayahuasca or other visionary plants, and many people who come to the Iboga house still believe the journeys they provide are unique and very much life changing.

However, the one thing everyone always says who has had experience with other plants, is that Iboga is unlike anything else, and always the most powerful experience they’ve been through.

The treatment can be anywhere from 7 - 14 days. Please call for a screening to determine the length of time you will need.

Following the treatment, there is an integration period where you drink a special blood detoxifying tea. You will also receive a series of powerful one on one and group counseling sessions with Moughenda, which will assist you in applying the messages you received on your Iboga journey to truly change your life.

In Gabon, many children as young as 12 years old take Iboga as part of their rite of passage ceremony. Moughenda has and will treat everyone who passes the screening from the age of 19 to 80 years old.

Children of any age are always welcome at the Iboga House. However, at the moment we do not supply daycare service, and there will be a period of a couple days (while you are in treatment) where you will not be able to supervise your child.  

We do advise that you seriously consider the fact that you are coming to the Iboga House to take care of yourself, and you need to be able to have the time while you’re here to direct your focus entirely upon yourself without external distractions.  

However, if your options are limited, please feel free to discuss your situation with us and we will try to accommodate your needs.

The price depends on the type of treatment you need. Since the nature of the treatment can include physical, psychological and/or spiritual healing, the price will vary. This can be determined during a screening on the phone when you call 1-888-624-3103.

If you only knew what the Iboga and Moughenda will do for you...you probably wouldn’t be asking this.
